97 / 23 / EC issued by the European Union under the New Approach Directives Pressure Equipment Directive (Pressure Equipment Directive), the same year by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Regulation on Pressure Equipment (97 / 23 / AT) It has been omitted.

The pressure products to be put on the market in the European Union countries must comply with the directive criteria. According to the provisions of this directive issued in 2002, it is not allowed to market the products that do not comply with it. Within the scope of the harmonization efforts to the European Union, these regulations were adapted to our law.

There are many situations in the workplaces that could pose a danger to the health of workers and to ensure a safe working environment. Especially used in industry too pressure vesselsThis is one of the equipment that creates danger. If not used correctly, their explosion will create a bomb effect and cause great damage to people and property in the vicinity. There may be several reasons for this. For example, the controls may not be performed in a timely and appropriate manner. Users may have opted for cheaper items instead of safe products. These tools may not be used in accordance with the instructions for use. Daily checks may not be performed. It may have been used by untrained people. Manufacturer companies may not be responsible. All these reasons are a great danger for pressure vessels.

Regulation on Pressure Equipment All legal regulations, especially for pressure vessels, require hydrostatic test pressure tests. These tests must be carried out by trained persons in pressure testing and safety. At the same time, it is necessary to use appropriate test tools, to use the appropriate facilities for the experiments and to make tests by persons who are familiar with the manual of these pressure equipment.

For example, if a fire extinguisher device is one of the pressurized equipment and the body or outer part of the fire extinguisher provides one or more of the conditions described below, there is no need for hydrostatic pressure testing for this fire extinguisher, it must be destroyed immediately:

  • If patches or repairs have been made by soldering, welding or a similar method
  • If the cylinder body and its outer surface are damaged
  • If corrosion is present on pitting
  • If the fire extinguisher is exposed to a fire
  • In a stainless steel fire extinguisher, if calcium chloride type extinguishing agent is used
  • If the extinguisher has not been used for a long time

Extinguishing media must be subjected to hydrostatic pressure tests at intervals not exceeding 10. However, the criteria and standards described in this regulation require not only regular tests, but also hydrostatic pressure tests.

For pressurized vessels, the hydrostatic test pressure should not be lower than the following values according to the Hydrostatic Test Pressure annexed to the Regulation on Pressure Equipment:

  • The maximum pressure and temperature to be taken into account, the maximum pressure that the pressure equipment is exposed to the value of 1,25 multiplied by the value or
  • For higher values, the maximum permissible pressure is multiplied by the 1,43 coefficient.

The TÜRCERT certification body provides conformity assessment, certification and training services, and also provides testing and inspection services. Pressure equipment hydrostatic pressure testing is one of the services provided in this way. For more information on pressure equipment hydrostatic pressure testing and to have these tests carried out, please do not hesitate to contact the TÜRCERT certification body, its experienced managers and employees.
