GLP Good Laboratory Practices System is a system that is prepared for the quality and correct service of the laboratories and requires the use of the right techniques in the laboratories.

In particular, laboratories performing the tests required for the classification of hazardous chemicals must establish the GLP Good Laboratory Practices System and operate in accordance with the required standards.

There are two legal regulations in our country. One is the Regulation on the Supervision of Good Laboratory Practices and the Control of Studies. The other is the Principles of Good Laboratory Practices and the Regulation on Certification of Test Laboratories.

The laboratories where microbiological or chemical tests will be carried out can be the unit of a factory or an enterprise established only to provide testing services. Regardless of how established, GLP Standard of Good Laboratory Practice Systemand ensure the continuity of the quality assurance system. Having and using the tools that provide the minimum technical conditions to ensure that the tests are performed correctly is an indicator of quality. Regular inspection of these tools is an indicator of quality assurance.

GLP Good Laboratory Applications Systemregulates the standards for the planning, conducting, monitoring, recording and reporting of the activities of the laboratories in which the studies to provide data for human health and environment or the substances to be determined shall be examined. The system also determines the working methods, procedures and conditions of the laboratories.

GLP Good Laboratory Practices The purposes of establishing the System can be summarized as follows:

  • To ensure reliability and quality, which is a prerequisite for the mutual recognition of reliable test data of chemical substances and products used in industry.
  • To ensure that the test data for the identification of the effects of chemicals and products on the environment and health are comparable and acceptable between countries, to avoid unnecessary test repetitions, to avoid the use of test animals, to avoid wasted resources and time.

In our country, within the scope of harmonization studies with the European Union, GLP Good Laboratory Practices System has to be applied in studies other than clinical research conducted in the field of chemical substances and products safety.
