When applying to the GLOBALGAP Certification Body, the producer organization or association must first fill in the Application Form. When the certification body receives this form, it prepares a proposal and sends it to the producer organization or association for approval. It also sends the roadmap to be followed in the certification studies with the proposal. In order for certification work to begin, this proposal must be accepted by the manufacturer or producer association requesting the certificate. After signing the contract mutually GLOBALGAP registration number is given. This registration number is entered into the GLOBALGAP database with manufacturer or association information to ensure traceability of the product.

After the contract is signed, the producer organization or association, the products or production areas that it wishes to be certified, the product processing facilities and the trade marks of the products used in the trade of the product and all the documents created for the operation of the GLOBALGAP System, to the certification body.

Certification bodyprepares an audit plan taking into consideration the time of collection of the products to be certified in the light of this information and documents to be provided by the requesting organization.

Certification of Good Agricultural Practices GLOBALGAP certification studies can be made in parallel. The producer organization or association may therefore apply for either of these types of certification or for both. GLOBALGAP Certificate is a certificate that the producers want to do business in international markets. This document is required as a prerequisite for exporting companies that send fresh fruit and vegetables to the European Union countries. On the other hand, Good Agricultural Practices Certificate is a document that organizations want to take part in domestic markets.

Inspection works are carried out by certification bodies, GLOBALGAP Control Points and Compliance Criteria is made in line. In these studies, the determined control points are inspected and the compliance level of the manufacturer is determined. If the producer organization or association is found to have reached an adequate level of eligibility, the producer organization or association is entitled to receive a GLOBALGAP Certificate.

However, if it is determined that they are not at an adequate level of conformity, then the producer requesting a certificate shall be given a period not exceeding four weeks in order to eliminate the nonconformities detected and the nonconformities are expected to be eliminated within this period.

If there is no obstacle for the issuance of the GLOBALGAP Certificate, the certificate is issued and delivered to the producer organization or association. The validity period of GLOBALGAP Certificate is one year. At the end of this period, re-inspection works should be carried out and the GLOBALGAP Certificate should be issued again.
