In traditional agriculture, the same kind of products or products are usually planted for years. Biodiversity can be achieved in organic agriculture. Conservation of biodiversity is important in order not to spoil the ecological balance.

Organic farming There are five basic principles of production work:

  • To be compatible with nature. The first principle is to plan the agricultural activities in line with the ecological balance, to choose the type of product suitable for the ecology of the region, to protect the wildlife and to fit the facilities and structures to the natural life.
  • To be self-sufficient. The second principle is to aim at plant and animal production, to give importance to waste management and to turn to renewable internal resources in energy supply.
  • To be sustainable. In order to obtain the highest yield from soil, it is the third principle to apply crop rotation, soil, water and biological diversity and to apply economic production and operation methods.
  • Being healthy. It is the fourth principle to use harmful chemical products and drugs in agricultural production, to avoid biological accumulations and residues, to keep health first for human, animal and all other living things, to ensure compliance with health at every stage from production to consumption.
  • Be traceable. It is the fifth principle to comply with the standards and legal regulations in agricultural production, to keep records of all processes, to control every stage of production and to comply with the certification criteria.

In accordance with these principles, manufacturers or producers' associations producing according to organic farming production techniques, by applying to a certification body, Organic Agriculture Certificate They can get. For this, an Application Form must be completed first. When the certification body receives this form, it prepares a contract proposal after the preliminary examination and sends it to the requesting body for approval. When the organization approves this document, certification works are started. In the meantime, if the certification body, production stages and a post-production process are carried out, all information and documents related to these process stages are submitted to the certification body.

The auditors to be assigned by the certification body shall work on the basis of the provisions of the Regulation on the Principles and Implementation of Organic Agriculture in the production area and the Organic Agriculture Checklist contained in this regulation. These studies of the auditors, the usage area of the planting area in previous years, the general situation around the area and the products grown, agricultural production It covers the issues such as applications, production area and risk situations for products. The auditors also examine all records and reports kept during production activities. When the studies are completed, a report is prepared.

If these inspections are positive, the producer or producer union shall be granted an Organic Agriculture Certificate indicating that organic farming conditions are met. If the audit work is negative, the situation is notified to the manufacturer or the producer association and the certification process is restarted after the negativity is eliminated.
