Type approvals are required for the introduction of various components, parts, systems and separate technical mechanisms on all motor vehicles and trailers in our country and European Union countries. This includes both directives for the European Union countries and regulations issued by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, which are applicable in various countries of the world, including those of the European Union.

While the number of directives issued by the European Union is 100, the number of regulations issued by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe is around 130. Their number increases as needed. The main objective of both applications is to ensure safety during the production and use of motor vehicles and equipment and to protect human health and the natural environment.

All of the directives issued for the European Union countries have been harmonized and put into force as a regulation within the scope of the harmonization studies with the European Union. Almost all of the regulations of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe have been published in our country.

The E marking application is carried out within the scope of the Type Approval Regulation (661 / 2009 / AT) issued by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and related to the General Safety of Motor Vehicles and Trailers, Systems, Components and Separate Technical Units.

Accordingly, the components, parts, systems and separate technical mechanisms of the motor vehicles and their trailers falling under the scope of the said regulation are tested and checked by the competent authorities and approval of these products is permitted if approved.
