The following two systems are used in the world for E-Mark Certification:

  • One of them is the e-Mark Certification system, which is regulated by the directives applied and published in the European Union countries. Approximately 100 directives have been published in this system. In general, the European Union countries are targeted.
  • The other system is the E-Mark Certification system, regulated by regulations issued by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. Approximately 130 directives have been published in this system. This system also targets other countries of the world including European Union countries.

As a result, the goals of these two systems are common. These goals can be listed as follows:

  • To fulfill the obligation to comply with the structure of the highways and traffic safety during the production and use of motor vehicles
  • Ensuring that the designated vehicles and equipment do not harm human health
  • To protect the natural environment in case of production, use and waste

If manufacturers produce various components, parts, systems and separate technical mechanisms on motor vehicles and trailers falling within the scope of the relevant directives and regulations, they must prove that they are produced in accordance with the criteria and in accordance with the specified targets. Otherwise, these products are strictly forbidden to be placed on the market.

The first man in the certification process is an agreement with a competent authority. The most important point here is that the selected organization is an accredited organization. The second step of the process is to carry out tests and checks on samples taken by the competent authority. These tests should also be performed in accredited laboratories. Finally, the final step of the process is evaluation. If the test results and controls are positive, the competent authority approves the products and an E mark may be placed on the products.
