This standard is the joint work of many certification bodies such as Danone, Nestle, Unilever and Kraft, and is accepted as the international food standard.

All foodstuffs, foodstuffs and foodstuff packaging companies can establish and manage the FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System, regardless of size or size.

The FSSC 22000 standard is an effective management system as well as an effective management system for enterprises, and is an important tool in the certification of enterprises.

The FSSC 22000 standard is designed to bring international standards and criteria for food safety into an international dimension. Under the FSSC umbrella, all processes of the enterprise, the connection, observation and supervision of the processes are determined and managed within a systematic structure.

This system ensures high quality food safety, because it is inspected in detail by the professional auditors of authorized certification bodies.

The issue of food safety has become a globally important problem among all interested parties until the foodstuffs come from the field to the consumer's table. Food safety is in many areas ranging from agricultural production to packaging and logistic services, and it has been a necessity to make arrangements in order to regulate and control food safety-based relations between the participants and the countries. The FSSC 22000 standard has emerged with such a requirement.

In short, the FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System is based on the application of existing ISO 22000 and PAS 220 standards, and nowadays the demand for FSSC 22000 certification has increased in line with the demands of domestic and foreign food manufacturers and retailers.

The basic structure of the FSSC 22000 system is as follows:

  • Food safety requirements of food manufacturers
  • Requirements for certification firms
  • FSSC 22000 accreditation rules
  • Rules for stakeholders

The system targets food manufacturers and retailers, in particular, to implement the requirements of ISO 22000 and PAS 220. It also emphasizes the following: complying with applicable regulations, fulfilling customer requirements, and ensuring efficient personnel management.

The PAS 220 standard mainly focuses on: the structure and layout of buildings, the location of the building, the location of buildings and additions, auxiliary facilities (air, water and energy resources), support services such as waste and sewage, equipment availability, cleaning and maintenance, management of materials, measures to be taken to prevent cross contamination, cleaning and sanitation, pest control, employee hygiene, reprocessing processes, product recall processes, storage processes, consumer information and food defense.

The FSSC 22000 food safety standard, which is accepted worldwide today, is the fourth update in 2017. The FSSC 22000 standard has filled an important gap in achieving perfection in order to keep up with changing world conditions as all of the food safety standards developed so far are insufficient to meet the need. In fact, as in many other matters, the development and change of food safety systems are continuous. The fourth version of the FSSC 22000 standard is the most advanced food safety standard for today.
