The CE conformity mark has come up with the New Approach program adopted in 1985 in the European Union. The CE marking is a sign of conformity with European Union legal regulations that demonstrate that the products in the New Approach Directives comply with the relevant directives and have undergone appropriate conformity assessment processes.

In fact, in the year of the 1969, the European Union has put in place a general program-based approach to eliminate the differences between national regulations. This approach called Classic Approach is intended to harmonize all standards that have the same effect as legal regulations. However, since the prepared directives contain very fine details, it has been difficult to keep up with the rapidly developing technology.

New challenges have begun in the face of these challenges and New Approach program. In this approach, instead of harmonizing product standards, products with similar characteristics were brought together and a general technical document was tried to be created. In 1989, the Global Approach program was implemented. The global approach included testing and certification procedures. One year later, the modular approach was adopted in 1990 and the current system was reached.

From the European Union 1985 New Approach Directives's. In particular, these directives establish the essential requirements to protect the health and safety of living beings, environmental conditions and consumer rights. With the New Approach program, European Union standards compliance studies were abandoned and instead a number of mandatory technical regulations were introduced, taking into account the minimum security requirements for the product groups.

These directives, which are prepared on the basis of product groups and find the numbers of 23, aim at designing, producing or correctly assembling the products according to their intended use, making their maintenance and not jeopardizing the health and safety of the livestock during use. The products can only be placed on the CE marking after they have been produced in this way.

The CE marking consists of the initials of the English-language Community Europe and can be translated into the European Union.
