The aim of the Customs Union studies in Europe was to establish a single market understanding for the European Union countries and to integrate into the single market, ie to make arrangements for the free movement of goods. In the 1951, the European Coal and Steel Community was established under the Treaty of Paris and the European Union began its political life. 1957 became the Common European Economic Community with the Treaty of Rome. The targeted structure was established in 1986. The barriers to the free movement of capital, labor and services among member countries have been removed. In our country 1996 Customs union has established a customs union with the European Union covering industrial products. Behind harmonization studies legal arrangements have been started to be made.

European Union adopted in 1985 New Approach In the program, instead of preparing a separate technical arrangement for each product, they gathered similar products in a group and started to prepare a general technical document. In this context, directives were prepared for the product groups, which are considered as basic requirements, in compliance with the criteria such as human health, life and property safety, animal and plant health, environment and consumer protection.

The basic principles of this approach are as follows:

  • Compliance of legal regulations is limited by the fact that products entering free circulation meet the basic requirements.
  • The technical specifications of the products corresponding to the basic requirements in the directives shall be in harmonized standards.
  • Implementing harmonized standards or other standards is preferential to the manufacturer companies, and manufacturers can always refer to other technical documents.
  • Products manufactured in accordance with harmonized standards will be deemed to meet the basic requirements.

New Approach Directives Today, the 23 product range is included, and CE marking is a must for products in these product groups. A product without a CE mark can be produced, nor sent to the European Union countries. And the way he didn't deserve CE label If the products are placed on the market, these products may need to be collected. Even manufacturers that operate in this way can be subject to heavy sanctions.

The testing and conformity assessment processes of the products in the European Union were the Global Approach in 1989 and the Modular Approach programs held in 1990. These arrangements have been made because of the fact that the free movement of goods is not sufficient due to the compliance of the technical regulations with the New Approach Directives. These arrangements aimed at mutual compliance and recognition of inspection, testing and certification and provided that the conformity assessment procedures for the products be carried out by notified bodies.

TÜRCERT certification body is mainly engaged in certification works. However, it also provides its customers with technical services such as various test and inspection works. In this respect, if you are hesitated about the CE marking and if you want to get more detailed information about whether CE product certification is a legal requirement, the valuable employees of the TÜRCERT certification body will always be there for you.
