The notified bodies have been implemented by the European Union through the Global Approach program adopted in 1989. The Modular Approach program adopted in 1990 introduces different methods according to the conformity assessment studies, the low or high risk level of the products. In order for an inspection, testing or certification body to be an approved organization, it must first have an adequate infrastructure for these operations. Then, in order to bring this body into a notified body status, it must be notified to the European Commission by the country where it is located. Due to this feature, TSE product certification is not an alternative to CE certification. Considering the situation in the European Union countries, product certification activities, which are not CE marked, are constantly increasing.
Consequently, the Declaration of Conformity issued by the Turkish Standards Institute is applicable throughout the world. Based on this declaration, CE marking on the products is accepted by all countries, especially the European Union.
