The safety of employees and businesses at a workplace depends on regular testing of all vehicles and systems, whether used by hand power or being used with motor power. The Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment, issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, on the basis of the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, entered into force in 2013. These legal regulations determine the minimum requirements for health and safety during the use of work equipment in the workplace. According to the types of machines used in the workplaces, the regulation explains the period in which these vehicles will be checked and the criteria and standards of these periodic controls.

Vehicle hoists are usually two or four columns. They are used in the maintenance of automobiles and light and medium heavy commercial vehicles. They are generally used by auto repair shops and services. There are many types of vehicle lift lifts, which are produced to increase the productivity of the business, according to their lifting capacity, light, medium and medium heavy commercial vehicle group and all motor vehicles.

Vehicle liftsis included in the group of lifting or forwarding tools. They provide the vehicle with an ergonomic height when performing general checks at the bottom of vehicles requiring maintenance and repair, when looking at the brakes, when replacing the silencer and for similar work. Because the load they carry is heavy and risky, the use of these tools is also risky.

Inspection and test facilities The steel ropes, chains, hooks, slings, pulleys, brakes and automatic stoppers of the vehicle lift lifts are inspected while being checked by them. In addition, unloaded and loaded state tests and load lifting tests are performed. When the inspection process is finished, a report by the testing and inspection body showing that the vehicle lift lift works safely and is not used is prepared and delivered to the operation. This report is considered valid in the audits conducted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security auditors.

Vehicle lift elevators must be checked at least once a year in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Law if no other period is specified in the relevant standards. Under the law, employers have a responsibility when an unexpected accident occurs.

According to the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment, the basic standards to be considered during the controls are:

  • TS EN 60204-32 Safety in machines - Electrical devices in machines - Part 32: Rules for load lifting machines
  • TS ISO 12480-1 Cranes - Safe use - Section 1: General
  • TS EN 13000: 2010 + A1 Cranes - mobile cranes
  • TS EN 1495 / A2 Lift platforms - Pillar work platforms
  • TS EN 1757-2 Safety in industrial vehicles - Pedestrian controlled vehicles - Part 2: Pallet transporters
