The periodic controls of lifting and transmission vehicles must be carried out by mechanical engineers, machine technicians or high machinery technicians. Such machines operate under heavy loads and are susceptible to accidents. Unless otherwise stated in the standards, lifting and conveying means are capable of safely lifting and retaining at least the 1,25 solid surplus of the declared load. At the same time, these vehicles have load brakes that are resistant to this load and have sufficient power. The declared load is the maximum load weight declared by the employer in the lifting and transporting vehicle. If a weight has to be lifted above the declared load, the lift must be tested in accordance with certain criteria.

Mobile cranes is also included in the group of lifting or forwarding tools. Since mobile cranes can move vertically and horizontally, they can be used for lifting and transporting any kind of cargo. It is generally used for lifting and transporting heavy loads or in the rescue of sunken machines. There are 360 rotating types on one gear and 180 rotating types.

Inspection and test facilitiesinspect the previous inspection results of the vehicle before starting the inspection. If there is a non-conformance found here, this non-conformity must be eliminated. After that, the general control of the mobile crane is carried out. Electrical components, mechanical parts and hook controls are performed. Then the mobile crane function tests are performed. Dynamic and static in the final stage load lifting tests makes.

Mobile cranes must be inspected by qualified engineers at least once a year if no other period of time is required by the relevant standards. This obligation has been introduced by the Occupational Health and Safety Law. According to the law, employers are responsible if an unexpected accident is encountered. Therefore, regular checks of mobile cranes are both a necessity and a safety requirement.

Ministry of Labor and Social Security issued Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment and according to the types of machines used in the workplaces, what are the control periods and periodic controls which criteria and standards will be taken as basis. The basic standards to be taken into consideration during the inspection are as follows:

  • TS 10116 Lifting and conveying machines - Cranes - Inspection and test methods
  • Steel wire ropes - Safety - Section 12385: Operation and maintenance information
  • TS EN 13157 + A1 Cranes - Safety - Hand-driven lifting equipment
  • TS ISO 4309 Cranes - Wire ropes - Application rules for inspection and decommissioning
  • TS ISO 12480-1 Cranes - Safe use - Section 1: General
